でも、リチウムイオン電池が含まれているグッズを長期間飾（かざ）ったままにして国に持ち帰るのはリスクがあります。今までは、こんな状態（じょうたい）では「燃えないごみ」にも出せないし、家電量販店（かでんりょうはんてん）も回収してくれませんでした。
結局、「家の中で爆発（ばくはつ）しないでくれ～」と祈るしかできませんでした。
しかし！日本では、昨今の爆発事故のニュースや環境省（かんきょうしょう）の取り組みにより、甲府市でも2025年9月から、市が回収してくれるようになりました！ ここでは、その捨て方について解説します。

中央市や甲斐市など、他の場所に住んでいる人は、自分の町の役所（やくしょ）に聞いてください。
捨て方の 3ステップ
- テープを 貼（は）る
金属（きんぞく）の充電（じゅうでん）パーツが見えていると、火事の原因（げんいん）になります。 セロハンテープなどを貼って、隠（かく）してください。

- 持っていく 場所を 探（さが）す
甲府市のホームページから、近くの回収場所（かいしゅうばしょ）を探します。

Have you ever had a mobile battery end up in a situation like this?
This photo shows a “BanG Dream!” power bank that has swollen in the center. It’s sad, but I’m going to dispose of it for safety reasons.Japanese character merchandise is attractive, so you often buy it as souvenirs. However, there are risks involved in taking goods with built-in lithium-ion batteries back to your home country after leaving them on display for a long time.
Until now, in this kind of condition, you couldn’t even put it out as “non-burnable trash,” and electronics retailers wouldn’t take it back either.
In the end, all we could do was pray, “Please don’t explode inside the house…”
But!
In Japan, due to recent news about explosion accidents and initiatives by the Ministry of the Environment, Kofu City also began collecting them starting in September 2025.
Here, I will explain how to dispose of them.

Three steps for disposal
- Put tape on it.
If the metal charging parts are exposed, it can cause a fire.
Cover them by putting on cellophane tape (or similar tape).
- Find a place to take it.
Use Kofu City’s website to look up a nearby collection location.
★Recommended location
If you live near the University of Yamanashi Kofu Campus, the “Takeda Service Counter Center” is the closest.

Instead of putting it in a box, say “Onegaishimasu”(Please) to the staff member and hand it to them directly.
