Ms. Maki Kobayashi (M1) received Best Presentation Award and Ms. Yuri Ito (B4) received Excellent Poster Presentation Award at the Annual JSWE Conference
Ms. Maki Kobayashi, M1 student of Special Graduate Program of River Basin Environmental Science (Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Tadashi Toyama), was awarded “Excellent Presentation Award (KURITA Award) – Best Presentation”, and Ms. Yuri Ito, B4 student of Department of Environmental Sciences (Supervisor: Prof. Kei Nishida), was awarded “Excellent Poster Presentation Award (LION Award)” at 51st Annual Conference of Japan Society on Water Environment held in Kumamoto during 15th –? 17th March 2017.
The Excellent Presentation Award is award aims to promote research motivation for Master’s student, and the Excellent Poster Award is for young student in universities, colleges and junior colleges. 1 awardee were selected for the Excellent Presentation Award – Best Presentation among 161 applicants, and 17 awardees were selected for the Excellent Poster Presentation Award among 119 applicants.
The title of the Ms. Kobayashi’s presentation was “Evaluation of the ability of aquatic plants to remove pharmaceutical products”.
Ms. Kobayashi said, “It is very big surprise for me to receive such a great award. Encouraged by this award, I will study much harder”.
The title of the Ms. Ito’s presentation was “Relationship between domestic water use and health impact in the Kathmandu Valley”, showing a part of the results from a research collaboration between Interdisciplinary Centre for River Basin Environment (ICRE) and Tribhuvan University, Kitasato University, The University of Tokyo and others.
Ms. Ito said, “It is my great honor to receive such a big award. I truly appreciate the cooperation from friends in the lab, ICRE staff and local researchers and residents for this research“.
