Ms. Kasuya Mari (M1), Mr. Bikash Malla (D2) and Mr. Ebata Kazunori (D3) received Excellent Presentation Award at the Water Environment and Technology (WET) Conference
Ms. Kasuya Mari, M1 student of Special Graduate Program on River Basin Environmental Science (Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Toyama Tadashi), Mr. Bikash Malla, D2 student of International Special Doctoral Course on Integrated River Basin Management (Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Haramoto Eiji) and Mr. Ebata Kazunori, D3 student of International Special Doctoral Course on Integrated River Basin Management (Supervisor: Prof. Nishida Kei) were awarded “Excellent Presentation Award” at Water Environment and Technology Conference 2017 (WET2017) held at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, on July 22-23, 2017. The Excellent Presentation Awards were given for outstanding presentations at WET2017. Among 154 applicants, 17 awardees were selected for the Excellent Presentation Award.
The titles of their presentations are as follows:
Ms. Kasuya: Characterization of Microalgae Growth-Promoting Bacteria (MGBP) isolated from wastewater
Mr. Malla: Microbial source tracking of alternative drinking water sources in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, using Bacteroidales quantitative PCR assays
Mr. Ebata: Identification of dissolved organic carbon sources and flow pathways during storm events by isotope tracing technique in a forested watershed
Ms.Kasuya said “It was my first English presentation and I got very nervous. So I was surprised and honored to get such a wonderful award, which encouraged me to keep on working hard”.
Mr. Malla said “I would like to thank Japan Society on Water Environment for awarding me with “WET Excellent Presentation Award.” I can’t express how much this award means to me.? This award has really motivated and encouraged me to work even harder. At this moment, I take this opportunity to thank University of Yamanashi, ICRE, and my supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Eiji Haramoto for their support and encouragement.”
Mr. Ebata said “It is my great honour to receive such a big award. I appreciate my supervisor, laboratory friends and Yamanashi Prefecture for their patient supports”.
