University of Yamanashi Signs Academic Exchange Agreements with Two Universities in Bangladesh
?On March 10, 2025, the University of Yamanashi concluded Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for academic exchange with two major higher education institutions in Bangladesh—Khulna University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). These agreements mark a new step in promoting international cooperation in education and research.
?The signing ceremony with KUET was held on the same day (local time) at the KUET campus. From the University of Yamanashi, Vice President Masanori Hanawa attended as a representative of President Kazuhiko Nakamura, bringing the MoU that had been pre-signed by the President and adding his signature as a witness. From KUET, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Mashud and Professor Monil Hossain (Head of the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering) attended the ceremony, expressing strong expectations for future collaboration.
?On the same day, a similar memorandum was signed with Khulna University. Vice-Chancellor Professor Rezaul Karim of Khulna University emphasized that this agreement would further strengthen educational and research cooperation between the two universities, creating new opportunities for both students and faculty members.
?Throughout both signing ceremonies, Vice President Hanawa stated, “This agreement serves as a bridge connecting educational and research institutions in Japan and Bangladesh, providing a foundation for jointly addressing global challenges. We expect innovative outcomes through the fusion of University of Yamanashi’s advanced technologies and the research potential of Bangladeshi universities.” He also expressed strong interest and enthusiasm for future developments, saying, “We hope to deepen the exchange of knowledge and experience between our countries through student and faculty exchange programs and joint research projects.”
?Prof. Hiromitsu Nishizaki, Director of the Center for Promotion of Internationalization at the University of Yamanashi, also participated in this visit, engaging in active discussions with local academic officials. The University of Yamanashi will continue to actively promote international academic exchange and aims to build a robust international education and research network that contributes to solving global challenges.
