*The convenience stores issuance service and the Online PDF Sending Service can be used during the above period for current students and those who have already completed the initial application for the Certificate Issuance Service. (Please refer to “Available Certificates and Fees” below for details on whether the convenience store issuance service is supported.)
*If you apply for a certificate by mail during the above period, it will be sent out sequentially from January 6, 2025 (Mon.)..
*Please note that the counter will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays even outside of the above period.

Certificates can be issued using a student ID card from the certificate issuance machine located on campus.

         ※There is no fee for issuing certificates for the faculty in which you are currently enrolled.
         ※Students who are currently enrolled in a graduate school and wish to apply for a certificate of the undergraduate faculty which they graduated should apply through the certificate issuing service below. (issuance fee will be charged.)
         ※Please apply for a certificate of commuting to school (通学証明書) at the window#2 of the Education Planning Division.
          It takes about 1 month to issue a commuting certificate for practical training, so please contact the each faculty office in advance.
          (Non-regular students such as research students, partial students, and visiting students cannot be issued a commuting certificate.)
         ※Students who are not in their graduation year should apply for a Health Evaluation Report at the Health Care Center.
         ※Certificates other than those listed above and certificates in English cannot be issued from a certificate issuing machine. Please apply through the following certificate issuance service.

Issued by Certificate Issuance Service (current students and graduates)(July 2022~)

The University of Yamanashi introduced the “Certificate Issuance Service” in July 2022.
The “Certificate Issuance Service” is a service that allows you to apply for the certificates online, pay by credit card or cash at a convenience store, and receive them at a convenience store, by mail, at the university office, or in electronic certificate PDF.

       Issuance fees and other fees that have been paid cannot be refunded for any reason.
       If you apply for the wrong number or type of certificates, we will not be able to refund.

      ?Caution for? issuing certificates in English
       When a graduate applies for the certificate in English, please apply for it after the day after the initial application is approved, due to data processing. (The certificate cannot be applied on the day of approval.)

      ?When applying for certificates for more than one course of study
       It is not possible to apply for certificates for more than one course (e.g., undergraduate and master’s) in a single application.
       Please apply for each course. (A system fee of JPY100 will be charged per application.)
       In addition, if you apply for certificates for more than one course, they will be sent separately in principle.
       However, if you choose Letter Pack Light, Letter Pack Plus, or EMS for shipping, and wish to enclose them, please apply as below.
      1.You select your preferred mailing method in one course(e.g. undergraduate).
      2.For applications for other courses(e.g. master’s), please select the destination category “University Office Receipt” and indicate in the “Remarks” field of “Option for sending by post” that you wish to enclose the certificate with (undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral) certificates.
      Example: If you apply for undergraduate and master’s certificates and wish to enclose them by Letter Pack Light
       When applying for undergraduate certificates ? Select “Letter Pack Light” in the shipping method category
       When applying for a master’s certificate ? Select “University Office (your campus)” in the shipping method category, and enter “Please enclose this certificate with my undergraduate certificate” in the remarks column.
       Please note that only certificates that have been applied for on the same day can be enclosed. Certificates that are applied for at a later date cannot be enclosed.
       In addition, if you choose domestic or domestic (express delivery), we cannot enclose or ship your package. 

      ?How to Receive
       If you applying for more than 1 certificate, you may not choose a different method of receiving them in one application.
       Please choose the receiving method that corresponds to all certificates you are applying for.
       If you would like to receive the certificates in a different way, please submit two or more separate applications. (A system usage fee of JPY100 yen will be charged for each application.)

      ?If you have changed your name or surname
       Even if you change your name or surname after graduation, the certificate will be issued in your name as it was at the time of graduation.

      ?単位習得証明書(Japanese only)
       This certificate is required to obtain qualifications. Please contact the division at the bottom of this page for more information.

      ?学力に関する証明書(Japanese only)
       This certificate is required to apply for a teaching license. When applying, please indicate the type of license (type, specialization, school type, and subject (for junior high school and high school)) in the remarks column.

      ?About those who need the certificates with tight cover (sealed)
       It cannot be issued at convenience stores. ?Please select “Sending by post” and check the “Tight cover” box at the online application. (You can receive it by mail or at the university counter.)

      ?Issuance in the form designated by the submitter
       It cannot be issued at convenience stores. Please select “Sending by post” when applying online, attach the data of the relevant designated form, and enter “Designated Form” in the Remarks column. If the designated form is only in paper format, please indicate this in the Remarks column and send the form by mail to the contact address at the bottom of this page. (You can receive it by mail or at the university counter.)

      ?Note on submitting certificates to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
       The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not accept certificates with POPITA (digital watermark) issued at convenience stores.

       If you wish to submit the certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please select “Sending by post” at the online application and indicate “Submission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” in the Remarks column. (You can receive it by mail or at the university counter.)

      You can use the “Login ID” and “Password” that you use on campus.
      ※Students who are currently enrolled in a graduate school and wish to apply for a certificate of the undergraduate course should apply through “For Graduates”.

        If you are a first time user, please complete the “New Registration”.
        “New Registration” applications will be approved or denied by 5:00 p.m. on the next business day in principle.
        (Business days are weekdays except Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and University’s holidays.)

        ※If you were enrolled in more than one course (e.g. Undergraduate and Master’s course), please use the information from one of the courses you belonged to complete the “New Registration”. Other courses can be added after the “New Registration” is approved. Approval or denial will be made by 5:00 p.m. on the next business day in principle.

  • ▼Available Certificates and Fees

    • Current Students

      ?Please issue a Student Discount Certificate for JR (学割証) by a certificate issuing machine by yourself.

    • ?Please apply for a certificate of commuting to school (通学証明書) at the window #2 of the Education Planning Division.
       It takes about one month to issue a commuting certificate for practical training, so please consult with the faculty office in advance.
       (Non-regular students such as research students, partial students, and special auditing students cannot be issued a certificate of commuting to school.)
    • ?Among “Other Certificates”, “単位習得証明書 (Japanese)” is a certificate required to obtain qualifications, etc.
       Please contact the office at the bottom of this page in advance.
      ?Students who are currently enrolled in a graduate school and wish to apply for a certificate of the undergraduate course should apply through “For Graduates”. (issuance fee will be charged).

      Graduates

      ?All applications will be online.
      ?The issuance fee for any certificates is Japanese:JPY600 per certificate and English:JPY800 per certificate. In addition, a system usage fee of JPY100 will be charged for each application.
       Please note that a printing fee of 60 yen per sheet will be charged for printing at the convenience store, and a separate postage fee will be charged for mailing.
      ?Issuance fees and other fees that have been paid cannot be refunded for any reason.
      ?If you are applying for multiple certificates, you may not specify a different method of receiving them in one application.
       If you would like to receive your payment by a different method, please submit two or more separate applications. (A system usage fee of JPY100 will be charged for each application.)
      ?In principle, “Certificate of? Registration (regarding the term of attendance)” are issued to research students and partial students.
      ?”単位習得証明書(Japanese only)” is a certificate required to obtain qualifications. Please contact the division at the bottom of this page for more information.
      ?”学力に関する証明書(Japanese only)” is a certificate required to apply for a teaching license. When applying, please enter the type of license (first class, special training, school type, and subject (for junior high school and high school)) in the Remarks column.

    • ?About Printing Watermarks
       The certificates issued at convenience stores and online PDF sending service are anti-counterfeiting protected by POPITA technology.
       It cannot be copied and used.
       ※POPITA is a registered trademark of NTT Advanced Technology Corporation.

      ?Note on submitting certificates to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
       The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not accept certificates with POPITA (digital watermark) issued at convenience stores.

       If you wish to submit a certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please select “Other Certificates” when applying online, fill in the name of the certificate you need, and indicate “Submission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” in the Remarks column.       ?For those who have received a certificate (for company recruiters)
       Those who receive the certificates issued at the convenience stores or online PDF sending service can use POPITA technology to verify the authenticity of the certificates.

      How to verify the authenticity of certificates (certificates issued by convenience stores)
      The authenticity of certificates can be checked with the “POPITA” application on smartphones and tablets. Please download the application from the URL below.

            ②Enter the code found at the bottom of the certificate
            ③Correct name, department, etc. at the time of issuance will be displayed → Authenticity is confirmed by comparison with submitted certificates

      How to verify the authenticity of certificates (certificates sent online PDF sending service)
      Online PDF Sending Service is a service that allows you to send electronic data (PDF) directly to companies and other submitting parties.
      The PDF data in the certificate is digitally signed and time-stamped to prevent tampering.
      If the PDF is tampered with after publication, a signature error message will appear when the PDF is opened.
